Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for the City of Alexandria
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including the City of Alexandria, until 4 a.m. on Thursday morning. Accumulation of three to five inches of snow is possible. A mix of rain, sleet, and snow is expected during the day with precipitation turning to all snow later in the afternoon. Snowfall is expected to be heaviest from 4 p.m. to midnight. Residents and motorists are urged to exercise caution, as roads may be slippery during the Wednesday afternoon commute. City crews are currently pretreating roads, bridges, and overpasses, and will respond appropriately to changing weather conditions. The snow emergency hotline is available at 703.746.4488.
