July 4th Holiday Solid Waste Collection
Due to the 4th of July holiday and the City being closed on Monday, July 5, 2010, residents are reminded that their trash and recycling will be picked up one day later during that week only.
Proper Trash and Recycling Preparation Please Remember:
Trash and recycling must be set out no later than 6 a.m. on the day of collection and no earlier than 5 p.m. the day before collection. Failure to do so may cause your trash or recycling not to be collected.
Trash and recycling should be clearly separated for ease of collection by crews. Cardboard does not need to be broken down, but please remove styrofoam, non-paper packaging, wooden pallets and/or trash. Cardboard not meeting these specifications will be taken as trash.
Plastic bags: please remove plastic newspaper sleeves and do not use plastic bags to hold recyclables. Use the yellow bin or paper bags. Plastic bags damage the equipment at the recycling processing facility.
Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection The Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Site will be open on Saturday, July 3rd but closed on Monday, July 5th for the holiday.
Normal hours of operation are every Monday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 3540 Wheeler Avenue.
