The City of Alexandria’s Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to present and discuss the proposed special use permit application for community use of the Duron Paint Store Building located at 4109 Mount Vernon Ave. The hearing will be held on Thursday, March 18, at 7 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave.
The purpose of the public hearing is to obtain public comment on the anticipated change of use of the building from a commercial business to public use. Approval of a Special Use Permit is required for this proposed change of use. After discussion on the Duron Paint Store Building, the Commission will hear comments from City residents on any other park and recreation related issue not previously discussed in a public hearing by the Commission. The regular meeting of the Commission will follow.

The deadline to submit comments is 5 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2010.
